Introduction

The crystallizer is used to concentrate the feed into solid crystals and clean water. Crystallization is a solid-liquid separation technique in which solid crystals are formed from a liquid solution. The crystallizer can eliminate liquid waste for zero liquid discharge (ZLD). Crystallization is divided into two stages: primary nucleation and secondary nucleation. Primary nucleation involves the growth of new crystals. Secondary nucleation to grow crystals is the main stage leading to the mass production of crystals. There are evaporation crystallization process and cooling crystallization process.

Crystallizers can be used alone or in combination with other technologies such as evaporators. A steam-driven evaporator removes moisture from the solution. During evaporation, the product is concentrated by boiling the solvent.
