Energy Saving series SNLE element is suitable for desalination treatment of surface water, groundwater and some low pollution water sources with salt content below 1000ppm.It is mainly suitable for municipal landscape, water supply and drainage, agricultural irrigation, municipal drinking water, small low-pollution medium water treatment,pure water of healthcare industry and ultra-pure water, commercial pure water machine, integrated water purifier and so on. There the advantages of ultra-low operating pressure, ultra-high water yield flux, ultra-high desalination rate, ultra-low operating energy consumption and so on.

Brief Introduction

XLP series (extremely low pressure) aromatic polyamide RO element is developed by VONTRON for treatment of surface water and underground water. Its operation pressure is about 1/2 of low pressure membrane, and the rejection rate can reach 98%. Thus it can reduce the investment cost of related pumps, pipelines, containers and other equipments and the operation cost of reverse osmosis system, improve economic benefits.

Scope of Application

XLP series RO element normally suitable for treatment of surface water, underground water and municipal water with TDS is less than 1000 ppm, It is especially suitable for the second pass of two-pass RO system. It is mainly applied in bottle water, drinking water, boiler replenishment water, food processing and pharmaceutical manufacturing industries and other fields.

Q2: What is the Salt Rejection Ratio?

A2: The Salt rejection describes the quality of salt removed from the Reverse Osmosis feed water stream as a percentage. It's one of the key elements of the RO membrane quality, however, other essential elements such as RO membrane performance durability, stability, application scope in different regions, and permeate flow output at the same pressure will all be the important factors to judge the quality of the membrane.

Q3: Is the Salt ratio of the RO membrane the higher the better?

A3: This will depend on the feed water quality, if the feed water quality is good, even a 90% salt rejection membrane will be workable, if the feed water is of bad quality and with a brackish water environment, a higher salt rejection above 95% is an ideal choice. Any membrane that meets the local drinking water standard will be good.

Q4: Is there are any other elements we need to take into consideration when selecting the RO membrane?

A4: Yes, the pre-treatment filter cartridge and the pre-treatment system will affect the RO membrane performance as well, please select good quality filters and pre-treatment system.

Q5: Why there are white foam-like water being in the treated water at the initial usage?

A5: To preserve the RO membrane for a long shelf-life, and prevent the membrane from being oxidized, a water-soluble protection material is coated on the surface of the membrane, which will be rejected in both the rejected water and treated water, for initial use, both rejected water and treated water should be rejected and the RO membrane should be thoroughly cleaned. The treated water at initial use shall not be injected into the water storage tank.
