Automotive interiors must pass stringent flame retardancy tests (for example, the national standard GB 8410-2006 requires a "horizontal burning velocity ≤ 100mm/min"). Silicone leather naturally possesses excellent flame retardancy:
It produces no toxic fumes when burned (traditional PVC leather releases hydrogen chloride gas), and its flames are easily self-extinguished, effectively reducing the risk of fire accidents.
