Galvanized Perforated Cable Tray

Product Overview

The Galvanized Perforated Cable Tray is a versatile, lightweight, and cost‑effective solution for indoor electrical cable management. The perforated bottom provides excellent ventilation while allowing small cables to be easily supported and routed. Hot‑dip galvanized (HDG) or electro‑galvanized finish ensures reliable corrosion resistance for general industrial and commercial applications.

  • Perforated design – ventilation + small cable support

  • Galvanized finish – HDG (≥65µm) or electro‑galvanized (Z12‑Z25)

  • Easy installation – lightweight, pre‑punched splice holes

  • Compliant with NEMA VE 1 / IEC 61537

Load Class & Span Guide (per NEMA VE 1 / IEEE 1222)

Load Class Typical Thickness (Ga/mm) Max Safe Span (m) Load Capacity (kg/m) Typical Applications
Light Duty (LD) 20 Ga (0.8 – 1.0 mm) 2.0 – 2.5 50 – 80 Office cabling, control cables, small data lines
Medium Duty (MD) 16 Ga (1.2 – 1.5 mm) 2.5 – 3.0 80 – 120 Industrial power & control, equipment rooms
Heavy Duty (HD) 14 Ga (1.5 – 2.0 mm) 3.0 – 3.5 120 – 180 Heavy power cables, dense fills
Extra Heavy Duty (EHD) 12 Ga (2.0 – 2.5 mm) 3.5 – 4.0 180 – 250 Substations, power plants, long spans

Load capacity includes both cable weight and a safety factor. For exact loads, consult load tables.

Surface Finish Comparison

Finish Type Coating Thickness Corrosion Resistance (Salt Spray) Appearance Best Environment
Electro‑galvanized (Z12‑Z25) 12 – 25 µm 100 – 200 hours Bright, smooth Indoor, dry, mild climate
Hot‑dip galvanized (HDG) ≥65 µm (ASTM A123) 500 – 1000+ hours Matte, grey Industrial, outdoor, moderate humidity
Pre‑galvanized (mill galvanized) 20 – 30 µm 200 – 300 hours Spangled Warehouse, light industrial
HDG + Passivation ≥65 µm + chromate 800+ hours Slightly tinted Coastal / high humidity indoor

Recommendation: Use HDG for any outdoor or mildly corrosive indoor environment. Electro‑galvanized is sufficient for clean, dry indoor areas such as offices or control rooms.
