The IC697MDL251 is a 16-point input module from GE Fanuc, part of the Series 90-70 product lineup. Its input points are organized into 4 isolated groups of 4 points each—group isolation enables compatibility with different AC supply phases, enhancing flexibility in system integration. Mechanically keyed for secure field replacement, the module is designed to seamlessly swap with compatible models, reducing downtime during maintenance.
This input module is well-suited for a wide range of control devices, including limit switches, selector switches, pushbuttons, and 2-wire/3-wire electronic proximity switches. It draws 0.35 Amps from the 5V DC backplane bus.
A dedicated mechanical key prevents accidental or unauthorized module swapping in specific rack slots. To reposition the module after initial installation: push the key upward to release it from the rail, reposition the module, then reinsert the key to secure it in the new slot.
Wiring requirements include connecting a power source to the input terminals of all 4 groups. The removable field-wiring terminal board accepts wire sizes 14–22 AWG. A cable tie can be routed through the cleat at the board’s lower corner to secure wire bundles. For safety, the main power supply must be disconnected before removing the terminal board.
