Each small roller unit of a Mecanum wheel forms a circular
projection along the major axis direction, which can be
equivalently regarded as a spherical wheel, enabling
omnidirectional movement. The primary reason is that each built-in
rolling unit can rotate along its own axis as the central axis.
The rollers of a Mecanum wheel are essentially fixed pulleys
mounted on a large wheel, altering only the direction of force
without changing its magnitude. Theoretically, the efficiency of
Mecanum wheels can exceed 99%.
