This product is carboxymethyl cellulose sodium salt produced by the action of chloroacetic acid on cellulose under alkaline conditions. The properties are white to slightly yellow fibrous or granular powder; Odorless, moisture-inducing. Swell to a callosal solution in water. Insoluble in ethanol, trichloromethane.
