The Storz ENDOCAM Logic HD 5525 is a camera control unit and camera head system with an intelligent LED light source. Its defining feature is sensor flexibility: the system adapts to 3CCD, 1CCD and C-MOS sensor technologies, so one control unit can serve camera heads of different generations instead of forcing a tower upgrade whenever a head changes. Light conduction, monitoring and camera control are handled through a dialogue function, meaning the system automatically sets the light source to suit the camera and procedure rather than relying on manual adjustment.
Confirm which sensor type your camera head uses before ordering — although the platform is multi-sensor, the head itself must be supported by the CCU firmware revision. Keep the rear ventilation clear and clean the air path regularly; LED sources run cooler than xenon but the CCU electronics still need airflow. Camera heads must be leak tested before autoclaving and couplers cleaned with lens-safe materials. Each unit is powered on, checked for image output with a test head and inspected for connector and fan condition before dispatch.
