This proven AMI solution is prepayment oriented and introducing the usage of appliance control device and in-home display(IHD). Key difference is that present popular setup is making meter a center of smart home, and adding more functions to it, but Calin's design is to put the communication and interaction functions onto IHD instead of meters, letting meter focusing on metering part and IHD on interaction with consumers and HES, only to make entire solution more stable.

This is two paralle channels setup : with hybrid meter operates with a concentrator to carry out AMR tasks for billing data and IHD with appliance control interacting with the head-end server for usage data exchange and load control purpose. This AMI solution is ideal for luxry villas, bunglows that consum large power and demand for intimate interaction with consumers. The utility company can remotely override the consumer and do the load shedding to balance the grid supply at peak hours.
